Writing You In My Head....

It's too late tonight to show you all
my amazing photos from our weekend in the
redwoods & on the coast for our Anniversary.
just this thought & question....

As we drove along through amazing views
& outrageous beauty....
I kept writing about it to you in my head.

Why would I do that?
Why would the fun of describing it all to you
distract me from
being surrounded by so much green

Well, it didn't really DISTRACT me from enjoying it,
but it is funny that
whenever I am peaceful enough to think...
it always leads me to writing.

And you are going to love the pics I got!!

  1. I do the SAME thing! I'm constantly writing blog sentences in my head when I'm witnessing something new! I think it means we're just incredible writers, as I'm sure Hemingway did the same thing!! (At least, that's what I'M going with!)

Can't wait to see the pics!

  2. Yes, don't you just get tired of being grouped together with Hemingway?

  3. I do that all the time, whether I'm thinking about blogging or just telling specific people about something I've experienced. Sometimes I wonder why I can't just simply enjoy a moment for myself without having to share it with someone else to make it truly magical. Perhaps it is a in a writer's nature to want to write about everything they experience. Only then does it become "real" by being captured, frozen in time.

Like when the girls do something cute ... or heinous. I breathe a sigh of relief when I've blogged about it because I know I've saved it, I've made it real, it won't disappear when the sand passes through the hourglass. The written word is the best preservative.

  4. I agree Shawna, I think it also has to do with calming down enough to let my thoughts get creative.

Hi Thanks for reading! Please leave a comment even if it has nothing to do with the specific blog, it's great to know that you are writing stuff that real live people actually read, ya know?
