The Mystery Package

A  few days ago Hubs picked up a package left on our doorstep. As he walked into the kitchen he asked why we would be getting a package from a place called "Blurbs". I had no idea and no clue what fun surprise awaited us.

He opened it slowly and carefully with scissors refusing to let me near it, such a man! Then his eyes lit up and he held it close to his chest so I could not see it. This is one of the frustrating moments when I have learned (married 33 yrs) to act like I  don't care. But of course that did not work because I was unable to keep from pulling at his arms to see what he had.

Writer Son has no idea why he grabbed Rocker Son's chin like that and he did not know that
Sassy Bride had done the same thing without instruction from the photographer!

This is a real book with carefully chosen photos printed on the pages like a yearbook. So sweet and sentimental. Hubs and I ended up sitting on the couch together as we slowly turned every single one of the 100 pages of this lovely gift. They created 4 copies of the book as thank you gifts to the parents and others.

I love it so much. But some tears did escape as I whispered to Hubs that my mom, who passed away in May, would have loved to see this since she did not attend the wedding. (Due to her fear of flying.)

Our book is a special gift that I adore. We both stopped at the pages of our son and simply marveled at seeing the little boy grin on the face of this married man. His crinkly eyes and goofy smile are still our silly, happy little 8 year old. But the love of pure joy on his face reveals the man he has grown into and we could not be more proud!

  4. What a fantastic present and surprise. Sweet of your son and d-i-l to do that. I would be willing to bet that your Mom has seen that book while you looked at it! How awesome!

Hi Thanks for reading! Please leave a comment even if it has nothing to do with the specific blog, it's great to know that you are writing stuff that real live people actually read, ya know?
