I lIke Johnny Depp........

We all have little secret things we do when we are alone right? Not awful things, just stuff that becomes a habit and time filler when we are bored or lonely. That is not making it sound any better is it?

I have almost always worked right along side Hubs in the jobs we have had. Pastoring churches is a two person job (at least) and running a ministry school took us to the office by 7:30 every morning and brought us home together late in the afternoon. Even before we married we worked side by side in a shoe store for years.

I am used to having him around. Hubs is now working at a home depot store several nights a week until 11pm. In the past I used to go buy myself something small when I was alone and bored. Next I began using those rare alone occasions to eat too much and watch garbage on TV.

This week while alone I have been....cutting my own hair.

I have no training. No skill. Just a lot of boredom and time on my hands. (Seems like the perfect time for you to say, "What about your writing?". I wrote all day before he left, by night time I am done with creativity. Other than hair creativity anyway.)

This may not end well.

But that may be the thrill of it.

I keep wanting to go back there to the mirror and cut some more off. Is this weird?

When I did it a few weeks ago Hubs did not even notice. But he should have because I cut a lot. Then a few days later I told him that I had saved us $30 by cutting my own hair and he was impressed and pleased.

But tonight when he left I think he was worried. He asked if I was done cutting my hair. Poor guy, has no idea what he will come home to! I don't either.

Do you get the title?? Trying to make a funny.

  1. I am SO glad you wrote this. I know you secong-guessed yourself, thinking, "Hmmm, maybe I shouldn't say this 'out loud.' They may think I'm a little weird." But I'm so glad you dared to divulge. This was the funniest confessional post EVER! I LOVE it. :) Great pictures. Great title. I also love Edward Scissorhands. You are too, too funny. And I love you for it. I also love that your husband is scared of what he'll come home too. :P

  2. Haha! Should have known that you would identify! Starting to feel like I have 2 diff personalities because I would not post this on the RCL bog at all. Hmm, well it's not that bad, I might do it.

  3. I love Johnny Depp, and I'm a guy =3

Strange coincidence, but I cut my own hair too - just 30 minutes before posting this!

Liking the blog and the content is a great read. Followed!

  5. LOL! I used to cut my own hair until I started cutting the husband's hair and we saved $ there. A few months ago I asked the husband to cut my hair--short to the skull. His first time ever. He did such a good job, I don't have to go to the shop nor cut my own hair anymore, as long as I want it short.

  6. I've always cut my own hair. Fair warning: Make sure you have a good mirror or you may not wind up with as much hair as you want. I had to get a wig once. :-) Happy hairstyling!

  7. If only we could style our own hair like Edward Scissorhands! You are very brave.

  8. I was so bored when my hubs started working again...but glad he was working also. When I complained, I called it Bored and Lonely (I think).
I do not cut my hair though because it looks like a kid got a hold of my hair :)

Hi Thanks for reading! Please leave a comment even if it has nothing to do with the specific blog, it's great to know that you are writing stuff that real live people actually read, ya know?
